Inclusion fatigue and irritation: When good intents backfire

Imagine this: you’re in a meeting room. On the table lies the agenda for an ‘inclusion training’. The atmosphere is awkward. Some colleagues stare at their coffee, while others mutter, ‘why are we doing this, again? What others say

Our impact is best expressed by the people we’ve worked with.

For the Court of Midden-Nederland, Osiris has facilitated several team discussions about diversity and inclusion. He did so in an accessible and open manner, allowing participants to feel at ease. Osiris also offered constructive thoughts on how to further improve the conversation styles and provided recommendations to further D&I within the organisation.

It was an evening full of positivity and good speakers. They shared that, through perseverance and working on your skills, you can reach whatever you want. A closed door isn’t the end; you can always choose to open more. You fall, and get up again.

Last week, I attended an in-company workshop Diversity Circle by Osiris. It was such a valuable workshop! Osiris really knows what he’s talking about, matches the needs of the group and gives the space to all participants in order to learn from one another. The workshop was captivating from the very start, and triggered you to reflect upon yourself and think deeper about topics. I was left with more awareness of my own mechanisms, as well as those of the company and team. Absolutely amazing.

It was with great pleasure that I attended PASSING ON THE TORCH 2025, an event organized by Osiris. Osiris manages to create a positive energy on this inspiring evening about black leadership. Interesting speakers. Well organized. Great balance between speeches, interaction, music and food. Highly recommended!

Discover how sustainable your D&I approach is

Some organisations and D&I officers see wonderful results with their inclusion efforts. Others experience a lot of resistance and struggle to take flight. Most are somewhere in between. What they all want is this: to systemically work on sustainable support. To make this more tangible, we’ve compared organisations we worked with, whose D&I efforts have truly worked for a prolonged amount of time, and whose remain working.
What do they have in common, and where does your organisation stand now?
